Topics - bright blue bands incorporating tiny Italian glass beads are being painted on the footpaths along the entertainment strip on Bridge Street between Trafalgar and Collingwood, where the bars are clustered. Public reaction has been underwhelming. Police are going undercover in Otago and Southland pubs. Southern Police have already been supping in bars in Southland and they're moving into Dunedin. Plain-clothed officers will be seeing if pub and bar owners are adhering to the liquor laws. Latest ACC data reckons NZ men are clumsier than women, unless they are on a plane, overseas or living on the North Shore or the Kapiti Coast.
