That's the inference we take from a police truancy operation in south Auckland one morning last week which found 321 students missing from 3 schools - Manurewa High, James Cook and Alfriston College. A quad bike tour at Riverland Adventures. WorkSafe NZ uncovered a huge variety of safety shortcomings. Percy Kukutai the company's director and guide was charged with manslaughter. He was riding the only bike that wasn't defective. Criminal charges were droped against him and yesterday in Manukau District Court the company got off scot free too.
