The Panel with Arini Loader and Sam Johnson (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:33 pm on 11 November 2014

Topics - today is generally the loneliest date, the 11th of the 11th, a lot of ones. So back in the 1990s a group of students at Nanjing University designated the day Singles Day, as a bit of fun. They bought themselves gifts because there was no-one else to buy them pressies. Now today has become the world's biggest online shopping day, thanks to e-commerce in China. Air New Zealand is axing some of its regional routes. From April next year the airline is suspending it's Eagle Airways services between Auckland and Kaitaia, Whakatane, Westport. Dairy farmers are often in bad odour with environmentalists, and now it's literal. Adrienne Senior of Paeora has been complaining about a smell from a new dairy shed next door. The stench has forced her, she says, to cancel her annual Christmas dinner and have her house as the wedding venue for her daughter. With school exams on, it's claimed that prescription drugs, performance enhancers, are being used by high school students to up their performance.
