The Panel with Chris Wikaira and Michael Deaker (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:07 pm on 1 December 2014

Topics - Andrew Little has begun today to reframe the Labour party's relationship with the electorate. "From the smoko room to the boardroom, we'll work with you". He wants the party to connect better with all types of workers, including the self employed, and most of all he wants to make sure we all have jobs. Kim Dotcom has earned $40m while on bail the Auckland District Court heard today. His lawyer told the judge at Dotcom's bail hearing that he didn't use the money to flee the country. In the end he's avoided going back to jail after a bail hearing at which it was suggested he had made so much money he was now a flight risk. His new lawyer Ron Mansfield said a "vow of poverty" was never a bail condition. Tighter bail conditions have been imposed, though. He'll have to report to police twice a week and is forbidden from private air or sea travel now. The new drink-drive limits have come in today, the alcohol limit if you're behind the wheel is down to 400 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath to 250mcg for drivers over 20. The blood alcohol limit reduces from 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100ml of blood, to 50mg. A zero alcohol tolerance for drivers under 20 was introduced in 2011.
