Caroline Beech, who’s daughter Elliot has been having cancer treatment for the past year, and regularly uses Ronald McDonald House says it is an invaluable resource.

Not only did the family get the shock of the diagnosis, but they had to leave Wellington and live in Christchurch for her treatment. It took a huge weight off their minds at a terrible stressful time. She said the food was home cooked and there was no sign of the global corporation's junk food.

"All of those small details that you didn't need to deal with because you've just had your world turned upside down ... were just totally taken care of," she said.

Caroline and her family have a website where people can donate money that will go towards Elliot's recovery. Follow Jarrod (Elliot's father) @ghettoanger to see how she's doing.
