The JFK files everyone was eagerly anticipating today were partially blocked when at the last minute Donald Trump said he had to bow to "national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns" raised by America's intelligence agencies. Of the 3,000 or so files due out today, 300 or so have been withheld.

There will be a 180-day review for the agencies to reconsider redactions, with a new deadline: 26 April 2018.

Bud Kennedy, who writes for the Star-Telegram, is in Fort Worth, a little over 30 minutes drive from where JFK was shot.
