The Australian government has lost its one-seat majority in parliament.

Five of the so-called "Citizenship Seven" have been disqualified from holding public office as a result of their dual citizenship with another country.

The decision has just been released and there will now be a by-election in Joyce's electorate seat.

The Australian dollar fell a quarter of a U.S. cent after the court announced its decision.
