The Panel with Peter McKenzie and Verity Johnson (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 1 June 2018

A revisit to the big story of the last view days - the report by Sir Peter Gluckman stating there has never been any evidence of illness from third-hand exposure to methamphetamine anywhere in the world. Today Housing Minister Phil Twyford said he's not ruling out recompense for tenants who were evicted from so-called meth contaminated houses. We speak to a Balclutha landlord, Mark Cowan, who had to fork tens of thousands of dollars to clean up his meth contaminated rental. We get response from Customs regarding a query from a listener about the GST charges now applied on online purchases. Our listener wants to know why unrelated parcles are treated as one items and thus exceed the $400 threshold. Meanwhile Amazon today said it will block Australian buying from its overseas website because of the country's new GST rules. More on the discussion about attitudes on the roads. Yesterday we talked to a listener about her experience being judged in her SUV. Today we have more reaction from drivers of other car makes, explaining what attitudes they encounter from other drivers. We speak to Phil Hickling about his observations. Glenfield mall has banned all further campaigning of the Northcote by-election after a confrontation. Labour was told campaigning was not allowed at the mall but National candidate Dan Bidois posted pictures campaigning alongside Simon Bridges at the mall. Labour's Northcote candidate Shanan Halbert was later removed from the mall but she is says it was after a discussion. We ask what the panelists think.
