Deliberate planting of carnivorous plants

A "Johnny Appleseed" mentality is one factor behind people deliberately spreading plants that could be devasting to New Zealand's endemic flora and fauna, as is the potential commercial value of them. Butterwort is a carnivorous plant that's been found in several locations, it's hard to get rid of and it thrives in poor quality soil. Botanist Peter de Lange talks about butterwort and the other species spelling disaster for the environment.
