Economist Michael Reddell says the National Party kowtowed to China. It's the latest opnion on New Zealand's relationship with the world power. How much risk can we take in that relationship? Huawei hasn't been slow in launching a charm offensive following our refusal to allow its 5G mobile network to operate in New Zealand. The UK has now given Huawei the greenlight. So is it just a matter of yime before we do? It seems that even if an employee wins a case against an employer in the Employment Court there is no guarantee they will actually see whatever settlement they're owed. This surely must deter wronged-employees from acting if they know the emotional and financial price is just too much. The banning of the herbicide Roundup from use in public spaces has seen the city's weed-killing bill rise dramatically. From $450k a year to $2.1m. Roundup's active ingredient is glyphosate and is the world's most commonly used herbicide. The weed-killer is made by Monsanto which is facing hundreds of lawsuits from peope who blame Roundup for their illnesses.
