War Report - 12 October

From New Zealand in World War I, 8:53 pm on 12 October 2014

Jim Warner of Waikato recalls that no pressure was put on men to join up in the early days. And his own keenness to enlist - he was 17 when he tried first. He mentions his friend Horace Jennet who went to Gallipoli and died in hospital after being evacuated. Duncan McCormick describes his experience as a conscientious objector. Jim Henderson describes the Main Body make-up and the statistics of New Zealand's contribution to the war.
