War Report - 23 November

As yet there are no New Zealand casualties in action and newspapers must look for local links in overseas news - a newspaper reports that an ex-member of the Governor General's staff has been wounded in Belgium.

In New Zealand there's a feeling of urgency as men hurry to enlist before the war is over. LP Leary of tells of leaving the garrison in Samoa and going to England to enlist while Jim Warner recalls joining up 17. Sir Andrew Russell on the spirit which drove the men to sign up.
