Submissions close today for a proposal for Wanganui District to be spelled with an 'H'.
People are being urged to make their online submission to Land Information New Zealand before 5pm.
Whanganui Māori River Trust Board secretary Beryl Millar said including the 'H' was about cultural identity and whakapapa.
She said whānau, hapū and iwi in the rohe support the 'H' and they will continue to fight for its inclusion.
Ms Millar said she hoped people from around the motu would support the kaupapa.
