A farmer has died while working on the roof of a barn, on his property in North Canterbury.
Ian Lester Totty, 72, was found by a member of his family at the property near Staveley yesterday afternoon.
The police say emergency services were sent but Mr Totty was confirmed dead at the scene.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
