The police are searching for a man who held up a Christchurch petrol station worker at gunpoint this afternoon.
They say the man walked into the Mobil petrol station in the suburb of Ilam just before 2pm, pointed a gun at the sole female attendant and demanded cash. He fled the station on foot with cash.
The man was described as Caucasian, with a brown beard and wearing a brown knitted hat, dark blue overalls and black shoes.
