Fuel prices should be falling - AA

The Automobile Association says drivers should be paying less at the pump, following a rise last month.

AA Petrolwatch said an improvement in the New Zealand dollar should be driving fuel costs down, after rising oil prices propelled the September increase.

It said the cost of petrol climbed six cents in September and 91 octane petrol ended the month on $2.04 at most outlets.

PetrolWatch spokesperson Mark Stockdale said people should be paying two to three cents less per litre.
