Associate Conservation Minister Nicky Wagner has hailed a new bird conservation partnership arrangement in Nelson.

She said a partnership between a Nelson frozen-fruit company and Birds New Zealand would enable more conservation work to be done in an area known around the world for its bird species.

The Stoke-based company, Fruzio, has donated $100,000 over three years to Birds New Zealand, also known as the Ornithological Society, to support new research and raise awareness of bird conservation.
