Police in Kenya say a man has been charged with fraud after cheating his way into second place at the Nairobi International Marathon.

Officials became suspicious when he finished the 42-kilometre run looking fresh.

Julius Njogu, 28, breezed impressively past fellow competitors at the end of the run, but officials became suspicious because he had barely broken a sweat .

Police questioning revealed he had run just the final kilometre after hiding in a dustbin.
