The Post Primary Teachers Association says its members have agreed to a pay deal providing a pay rise of about 6.5 percent over three years.

The agreement increases secondary teachers' pay by 2 percent a year for the next two years, and by an average of 2.5 percent in the third year.

The union says the Education Ministry has also agreed to pay its members' $220 practising certificate fees for the next three years.
