A cyclist who fell from his bike and went down a bank on the Coromandel Peninsular yesterday died from a medical condition and his death is not being treated as a road fatality.
The police say a driver noticed the 68-year-old man riding up a hill on Whangapoua Road (State Highway 25) about 5pm and then saw him veer left, collapse and fall from his bike.
They say a medical examination has established the man's death was the result of a medical condition.
The death has been reported to the Coroner.
