An 84-year-old Horowhenua man who was assaulted in his home on Friday night is out of hospital and doing well, police say.
The man received head injuries following an aggravated burglary in his home in Shannon about midnight.
Detective Sergeant Johnny Oram said a scene examination has been completed and there had been a good response from the community providing information.
He said the incident was a good reminder for people to keep windows and doors secure at night.
