Lower speed threshold in force

12:54 pm on 1 December 2015

Police have reintroduced a speed tolerance limit of 4km/h heading into the holiday period.

Acting national road policing manager Peter McKennie said anyone exceeding the speed limit by more than 4 km/ h could expected to get a ticket.

Speed cameras have already been readjusted to the lower tolerance.

It is the third year in a row the enforcement threshold for motorists has been lowered.
