One of New Zealand's biggest surveys will examine the Earthquake Commission and insurers' responses to Christchurch quake claims.
The survey, led by Michael Naylor, Senior Lecturer in Finance and Insurance at Massey University, was launched in Christchurch today.
Dr Naylor says it will be the most thorough research ever conducted in the world into the insurance industry's response to a major disaster.
He says the researchers don't want to hear just about what went wrong, as important as that is, but also about what went right.
Dr Naylor says the findings will be a widely read international report, which will influence future decision making by government and the industry.
