Caution urged after spate of crashes in Waikato

4:59 pm on 6 December 2015

Drivers are being urged to take care on the roads after a spate of accidents in Waikato.

There were six crashes, including one fatal, in the space of three hours yesterday.

One person died after two cars collided near Karapiro about 6pm. The other driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An hour later, there were a further two crashes: one in Matamata and one in Huntly.

Then, at 7.30pm, a vehicle using the diversion in place for the Karapiro incident crashed on Whitehall Road.

Motorists are urged to adjust their driving to the road conditions.
