People in Raetihi and along the Whanganui River are being urged to watch their electricity use today.
Power is now being supplied by generators after a fault in the national grid cut supply to 1500 properties on Friday night.
Transpower and local lines company Powerco are working together to fix the problem.
They have been adding more generators this morning, but are asking people to conserve electricity to stop any more problems developing.
