Part of State Highway One near Seddon in Marlborough is closed, following a crash involving a truck and a car this morning.
Emergency services were at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly after 9.30am near Weld Pass, blocking the highway.
Diversions were being put in place and motorists should expect some delays.
Two occupants of the car were being treated by ambulance staff and a rescue helicopter had been sent from Nelson to assist.
