A Northland footbridge closed yesterday after being damaged by a boat is now open again but only for limited use.
The Whananaki footbridge, which also forms part of the national Te Araroa Trail, has undergone some temporary structural repair after one of the piles was knocked away.
The Whangarei District Council said people were allowed to cross, but only one at a time over the affected area.
Permanent repair is expected to be done in the New Year.
