Residents of the small Bay of Plenty township of Mamaku are still on rationed water supplies while council contractors wait for spare parts to fix a broken bore pump.
Rotorua Lakes Council water operations manager Eric Cawte said the fault with the pump, which failed earlier this week, appeared to be with the electric motor.
The council has sourced a new motor but the electrical contractor is still trying to get some other parts needed to install it.
It was likely to be the middle of next week before all the parts arrived.
Meanwhile, the plan is to continue using the old standby bore and pump, but water tanks can be brought in if necessary.
Residents have done an excellent job of cutting their water usage, he said.
