A series of thunderstorms have swept through Wellington this evening, clearing the sea fog threatening to cause more problems for the airport.
The mist, which left thousands of airline passengers stranded yesterday, returned briefly this afternoon.
MetService says as well as thunderstorms in the capital, the wind has now turned northerly, which should have pushed the fog away.
