Police are trying to trace a man they say has tried to burgle ATM machines on Auckland's North Shore by pretending to do maintenance on them.
They say the man goes to ATMs that are behind doors early in the morning and hangs drop sheets in the window to make it look like he is doing work on them.
So far he has not taken any money.
Police say anyone who sees an ATM covered with a sheet and closed sign, especially outside of business hours, should contact them.
