The police say a post mortem on a woman found dead in her home in the Christchurch surburb of Spreydon shows she did not die from suspicious circumstances.

The 51-year-old's body was found yesterday at Gleig Place.

A police spokesperson says the post mortem found no life threatening injuries or suspicious circumstances that could have led to her death.

The spokesperson says a definitive cause cannot be established at this time, however the results of toxicology testing and the full post mortem results are some weeks away.
