Firefighters are investigating how a commercial building caught fire in Hokitika last night.
The Fire Service was called to the two-storey building in the West Coast town shortly after six o'clock.
Four crews brought it under control, but the building - which is thought to house a construction company -had been extensively damaged.
No one was inside when the fire broke out.
