Closing arguments are due to be made today in the trial of double-murder accused Russell Tully.

The 49-year-old is charged with the murder of Peggy Noble and Leigh Cleveland, and the attempted murder of two of their colleagues, at the Ashburton Work and Income office in September 2014.

He also faces charges of setting a man-trap and unlawful possession of a pump-action shotgun, a second shotgun and ammunition.

The Crown called the last of about 70 witnesses in the High Court in Christchurch on Friday.
