A man has suffered face and head injuries after a horse kicked down a gate at a farm south of Hastings.
The Hawke's Bay rescue helicopter was called to the farm yesterday morning at 10am to help a 45-year-old man.
The wooden gate had been knocked off its hinges, hitting him in the face.
He was taken to hospital for further treatment.
