Auckland Council's transport agency, Auckland Transport, is considering moving its headquarters to the Victoria Park offices being vacated by Vodafone.
The transport agency said it was in commercial negotiations over the building on Fanshawe Street, but these were some way from being finalised.
The deal would involve the agency leasing the building, and vacating leased office space scattered around the city.
Auckland Transport's lease at Smale's Farm on the North Shore is up next year, and its corporate offices are in the HSBC building at Britomart, which will be demolished to make way for a large commercial development.
