Auckland DHBs, staff in penal rates row

4:50 pm on 17 March 2016

Auckland district health (DHBs) boards are seeking help in the ongoing row with 3000 workers over penal pay rates on weekends.

The DHBs are negotiating with the Public Service Association over a new collective agreement covering staff in both clinical and clinical-support roles.

Talks have broken down over the DHBs' intention to pay time-and-a-half rather than double time for ordinary hours worked by new employees during weekends.

The DHBs have Employment Relations Authority to facilitate in a bid to settle the dispute.
