State Highway 1 has reopened after it was completely closed at Warkworth, north of Auckland, due to a crash between a truck and a car towing a caravan.
Police said gas bottles on one of the vehicles have ruptured so the Fire Service were helping to clear the crash.
NZTA said the road was now clear, but there were still delays in the area.
