Japanese restaurant raided after serving banned blowfish dish

Police in Japan say they've raided a members-only restaurant that had allegedly served elite customers a potentially deadly delicacy - the liver of the highly toxic tiger blowfish.

Chefs need a special licence to prepare and cook any part of the fish, but serving the liver is banned.

Japanese media said the restaurant in Osaka was accused of including blowfish liver in a sashimi dish in January.

No harm to diners has been reported.
