More fences for Christchurch's Regent Street

More fences have been put up in Christchurch's new Regent Street after structural damage was found.

Five buildings in the historic street were cordoned off because of safety concerns following the Valentine's Day earthquake.

Christchurch City Council has now fenced off another area of the street, after cracking was found in a parapet on Friday.

A council spokesman said the cracking was found when repairs were being done to the other buildings.

The street remains open and businesses are trading.
