Unions recommend Auckland bus drivers settle dispute

4:19 pm on 18 April 2016

The unions representing about a thousand bus drivers in Auckland are recommending they settle their dispute with NZ Bus.

In a joint statement, the unions and company said both sides had made concessions to reach an agreement.

The statement said under the agreement, wages would increase by two percent from November 2015 and a further two percent in November 2016.

The agreement is also said to include good concessions for drivers around work rules such as rosters, consultation, sick leave and back pay.

Auckland Tramways union president Gary Froggatt said delegates would be recommending the offer was accepted.

Drivers will vote at stop work meetings over two weeks, starting from next week.
