A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after colliding with a car north of Kawakawa in Northland.
Two motorcyclists collided with the car just before midday on the second of the "three bridges", and one has critical injuries.
The other motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries.
A helicopter has been called in to take the critically injured man to hospital.
Police are diverting traffic through Paihia and said motorists should expect considerable delays.
