Father rejects High Court religious education ruling

A man fighting against religious education in schools is continuing the fight despite the matter being dismissed by the High Court.

Parent Jeff McClintock is challenging the Education Act's legality by arguing one section discriminates against children who don't hold Christian beliefs.

However, the High Court case against Red Beach School in Auckland has been struck off.

Mr McClintock's lawyer Richard Francois said they were taking the matter to the Court of Appeal, arguing the decision to strike it was unjustified and there was not legal authority.
