NZ universities worried about productivity review

Universities are warning they could be undermined by a Productivity Commission review of tertiary education.

Universities New Zealand, which represents the eight universities, today published its response to the review.

It said the review was too focused on new technology and could lead to significant changes that might undermine the quality of teaching and range of courses at universities.

The commission began its review this year by saying there was an unwillingness to try new things in the tertiary education system.
