Blessie Gotingco's family raises $143,000 for action against Corrections

A week on from setting up a fundraising page to take action against the Corrections Department, the family of slain Auckland woman Blessie Gotingco has raised over $143,000 from more than 4000 donors.

Tony Robertson will spend at least 24 years in prison for raping and killing Mrs Gotingco in 2014.

A government inquiry found no failings in his management after he was released from prison on child abuse charges, six months before he murdered Mrs Gotingco.

However, the family is raising funds to review what it calls the mismanagement and non-monitoring of Robertson, and to take the Corrections Department to court.
