Lincoln and Aranui are among the areas that will benefit from $276 million in funding for Canterbury school property that was included in the Budget.
The government says the money is for projects including the relocation of Shirley Boys High School and Avonside Girls College, and new classrooms at Lincoln primary and secondary schools.
It will also cover the construction of two new schools, Haeata Community Campus in Aranui and Rolleston College.
The government has committed nearly two-thirds of the $1 billion it said it would spend on rebuilding and renewing Canterbury schools in the wake of the earthquakes.
