A technical issue caused delays in the processing of payments for Kiwibank customers last night.
Many people took to Facebook complaining that regular transactions like Work and Income payments and pensions had not come through at the normal time.
Kiwibank said a technical problem caused about a three-hour delay in the processing of both incoming and outgoing payments.
It said the issue was resolved, but it had caused anxiety for some customers expecting payments.
