Activity in the services sector is continuing to be buoyed by strong migration and tourism.

The BNZ-Business New Zealand Performance of Services Index dipped 0.9 points to 56.9 in May.

A reading over 50 indicates expansion.

Employment picked up to the highest level since November last year.

Other indexes such as activity, sales and new orders fell a touch, but remain above the solid 60 mark.

Today's data follows a pick-up in manufacturing numbers last week to reach the highest level since January.
