The Government has assigned another $50 million to earthquake recovery in Christchurch, bringing its total spending to $15.4 billion.
The money will go towards the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority's operations and will be spread over two years.
Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee said the money was part of a four-year operating fund of nearly $313.8 million.

Christchurch mayor Lianne Dalziel said confirmation in the Budget of the recently-signed Housing Accord for the city will assist people who are struggling.
Under the accord, the Government will invest $75 million and the council $50 million to build houses to try and ease the current shortage. It is still subject to public consultation.
Ms Dalziel also welcomed the $14 million set aside for the work of the Canterbury Social Support Fund.
The fund supports trauma counselling services, co-ordination and case management for families with multiple problems and for critical community-based social services responding to the Canterbury and Christchurch earthquakes.
