Official figures show nights spent in short-term commercial accommodation fell 0.8% in March, compared to a year ago.
Domestic guest nights rose 1.4% offset by a 3.6% fall in international guest nights.
Guest nights fell for holiday parks, motels, and backpacker accommodation, but rose for hotels.
