Pumpkin Patch appoints Rod Duke to its board

6:57 am on 1 June 2012

Pumpkin Patch has appointed retailer and significant shareholder, Rod Duke to its board.

Mr Duke, who controls Briscoe Group, has a 9% stake in Pumpkin Patch, and will become a director, along with Peter Schuyt.

Pumpkin Patch chairperson Jane Freeman says Mr Duke's knowledge of the challenges of being a retailer, and dealing with them, will be invaluable to the children's clothing retailer.

She says Mr Duke's particular skills will bring a breadth of experience to the overall board table.

Mr Duke will join the board in June and Mr Schuyt in August.

Pumpkin Patch is closing all its stores in Britain and the United States, focussing on lower cost international wholesale and franchise deals instead, and selling more through the internet.

Pumpkin Patch stock rose 2 cents to 88 cents per share on Thursday.
